CMS Offers Technical Assistance for Second Round of Health Care Innovation Applications

On July 24, members of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services' (HHS) Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's National Public Health Network sponsored an informational webinar about the second round of Health Care Innovation Awards. This Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) is being offered through the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services' (CMS) Center for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation (CMMI). CMMI will spend up to $1 billion on the winning public and private organization that produce new programs focused on innovative payment and service delivery models that can provide more efficient care and lower expenditures for Medicare, Medicaid, and Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP) beneficiaries. Applications for the awards are due August 15, 2013, and the winners will be announced in early 2014. Since the application process is completed entirely online, the webinar provided insight into the application process, technical assistance, and tips for troubleshooting. The webinar slides, along with slides from all previous webinars, can be found at
