Forum Feature Conference Call with the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) Funded Pilot Update for Improving Medicaid Provider Eligibility through State Shared Services

Join the Collaborative Forum Conference Call to discuss the Improving Medicaid Provider Eligibility through State Shared Services funded pilot.  This pilot will produce and evaluate a prototype shared services solution for states to verify Medicaid provider eligibility. This solution is a component of the Medicaid Management Information System (MMIS) that each state currently builds and maintains separately. Chip Garner of CMS will explore the project purpose, deliverables produced, pending project deliverables to be completed and overall goals and expected outcomes of the project.

Pilot Summary:

The pilot will test how open source technology reduces fraud and administrative costs to states and the Federal government by enabling multiple states to check Medicaid provider eligibility. This pilot will inform the use of a shared services model for MMIS as a best practice for States to adopt as they update their systems. A shared services solution could significantly reduce state and Federal development costs for MMIS, which are currently built separately in each state. Interstate data sharing on provider eligibility may help states prevent provider fraud.

If you plan to call in, please RSVP.

The call in number is 866-939-8416 Code: 9723625
