As we reach the end of the fiscal year for most state and local governments, scarce resources become even more limited, and all but the most pressing projects are put on hold until the beginning of the new fiscal year in July. States are usually in a better position at this time of year to move forward with projects, and the progression of statewide projects was a noticeable theme in the justice and public safety market last month. Utah released a request for proposals (RFP) for a next generation 911 system, and Texas made the decision to move forward with a statewide advanced analytics software project after reviewing responses to a request for information (RFI) released last November. The state of Washington’s Administrative Office of the Courts released a public notification to announce its intent to release an RFP for a superior court case management system this month.
